Jari "Sojari" Bradley is a poet, artist, scholar, educator, and dreamer born and raised in San Francisco, California. An avid reader and writer since the tender age of five, Sojari has been influenced by the rhythm, outline, and shape of words since she could form her first sentence. Sojari was a Youth Speaks Slam Champion, and third place finalist in HBO's "Brave New Voices" in 2009. In 2011, Sojari developed and performed her own one woman show entitled "Ascension". Since then, she has graced stages and opened for the likes of Angela Davis, Dr. Joe Marshall, and has performed her works in places abroad such as: Vancouver, Canada, Kona, Hawaii, and San Juan, Puerto Rico. Sojari is a member of San Francisco State University's S.P.E.A.K. slam team that ranked 5th in the nation during the College Unions Poetry Slam Invational (CUPSI) in Boulder, Colorado this year. The driving force behind Sojari's body of work, artistry, and performance is the culmination of her desire to shatter traditional notions of race, gender, and class while simultaneously serving as the orator of her family's history. Sojari wishes to tell the truth, and to tell the truth freely.
